Well I did this on a challenge from Kaylee/Jaya. She found out that I wrote poetry of the non-fan sort and challenged me to this. So this is for her. And I guess it's for Logan, too. :)

So tell me what you think. I'm really curious considering how far this strays from my normal form of fan writing. I really could use some input.

Disclaimer: I don't own Wolverine, Marvel does. I'm not making any money from this, so please don't sue.

"Boundary"

by queenB

He moves through anger
like a jackal through a desert
searching for the next
meal, chasing the border
of hunger.

Clawing his way through
fierce worn battle scars,
through the ends of
insanity, he focuses past
the white noise at the limit,
the brilliant light
of pure, focused nothing.

He thinks it will save him from himself.

He surges close to the toothless maw,
sifting furious truths
in his blood soaked brain
hoping to keep the beast
quiet, just long enough to reach
oblivion. Just long enough
to keep the mad, mad world
from crushing the man
he knows he is.

He thinks he is
     he hopes he is.

But his blood runs hotter
than the angry belly of a star,
hotter than anyone can dream.

This life is never easy
and he knows what waits
on the other side.

Silence is more deafening
than the blood pounding in his ears.
The struggle has to be enough
for now.
