Most are Marvel's, not mine. More's the shame. Further note at the end.
Hey Mom, Hey Dad
The young man crouched before the two graves and smiled, orchid eyes sad but enduring, grey hair in a short ponytail.
"Hey, Mom. Hey, Dad.
"I know it's been a while, but I've been kinda busy. Aunt Rachel say I take after you both that way, as if I didn't know."
The young man adjusted the grip on the weapon in his hand. "I-- finally picked up the psimitar, Dad. You were right. It does feel right. I... I just used it to deal with Sinister. I wish you could have seen the look on his face. But the twins are safe now. Sam and Tabby say I did right, Grandma says I over reacted-- that's the usual too. I think all of them are glad their grandkids are safe."
A gentle hand over his father's grave stone, tracing out all the name on it. "Names were always important to you guys, weren't they? That's why Mom was wed under her name, rather then her given one. That's why there's no Nathan anywhere in my name."
He looked down at the flowers planted on each grave. White daisys on his, to remind them of his hair and the way his face lit up a lot. His father's smile was wonderous, for all the pain in it. On his mother's grave, orchids. The color of his eyes, the color of hers. His eyes watered up.
"Look, Dad... if Mom is some kind of hell because she killed herself after you died... you damn well better rescue her, you stubborn bastard, cause I wanna see both of you when I get there!"
"I hope you are in no rush, kinder."
Christopher Cable'son Dayspring Summers looked up and smiled saddly at the priest. "Hell no, Uncle Kurt. He'd whip my ass for abandoning Mary and the twins."
Father Kurt Wagner laughed slightly. "Sorry to disturb you..."
Chris shook his head and rose, dusting his skin tight armor, hefting his weapon. "Naw. I just have to visit when I get out here to the Mansion... You know, even with the virus about to shut him down completely, he went out smiling? Holding Mom's hand and remembering everything they'd done..."
Kurt smiled as they walked away. "He'd earned it..."
NOTE: I noticed something going through the Dayspring Archive-- most stories have Cable and Dom having a girl. So I decide to write a tale about their son. The grave scene came from the fact I just read Annwn by Alicia. I was there, so...
And now I got a whole future timeline thing in my head. GROAN. You'll see more of Christopher Cable'son, I guess, now I got a story monkey on my back...
