Subject: [OTL]: Public Feedback, part the first
Date: Thu, 23 Dec 1999: from 'rith
Time again...
I approve whole-heartedly of the public feedback idea, BTW. A lot of times reading someone's reaction to a piece convinces me to read something I might otherwise have skipped. That's why I do it; and because letting folks know what I like might convince *them* to write more of the same. So it's a selfish motive, you see. ;)
Phil Hartman, "Millennia": Legion fic! Oh, happy day. And this *feels* right; can't retell the origin too many times, you've got all the players down pat and the variations make sense. Oh, it's just wonderful to see them all again like this, the way they should be: Jo and Tinya, and Dirk, and non-robot Brainy, and you even made me smile at Laurel. How'd you do that? ;) *sniff* Poor Lyle. He's just got "martyr" written all over him, doesn't he? The preboot version, anyway. Okay, Phil, I'm begging here: more?
DarkMark, "A Prize..." *grin* You *know* how much I'm enjoying this one. Carol's the coolest. I hear she may be returning to the Avengers, thank goodness. Your fic's been sustaining me through her comic absence.
Bayeux, "Interlude": Maybe the high quality of the writing in "The Authority" is insipiring, because every Authority fic I've seen so far has been excellent. I *like* the Doctor, despite everything, and it's only likely he's going through exactly what this piece describes. In particular, the bit about the Doctor seeing things on a global scale is a keen bit of insight, and certainly explains how he was able to do what he did in Sliding Albion without being a total sociopath. Very, very nice.
Syl Francis, "Invasion": Well, *I'm* reading it, and still enjoying it a lot. The part in the latest with Garth's esper abilities was really interesting--even more that it was Speedy he contacted, and how Roy reacted to it. The inclusion of Roy's Navajo background was even better. This is fun, Syl.
More later.
