No clever story-format, sorry!
Matt Nute--"Born Kree":
"...a final dream of stars." Troubling, affecting stuff. The entire Kree empire
just came to life for me, in the words of this scientist. I'll never look at
Supremor again without remembering this.
Jen Xās"Hands", DuAnn Cowartās "Silent Treatment (Siryn)," and Benās "A Cold
Clear Night (Iceman)"
Lovely little vignettes. Someday Iāll learn to write short, powerful pieces
like this.
Skyrocket÷"Starman: Lady Opalās Light":
Ooooh, Starman fic. This made my day. A great book, and wonderful characters÷not
the least of whom is the city herself, as you point out.
Dannell Lites÷"Praetor," and "Music of the Night":
Gee, I wonder why you write Kallarch so well... ;) (The Imperial Guard is just
another version of the Legion of Super-Heroes, for those who donāt know, and
Gladiator is essentially Mon-El and/or Superman.) Heās a lot more real here
than in the comics. And "Music" is a lovely Titans tale. Poor Joey; he deserved
far better. Itās a great tragedy that none of us will ever hear Alfred sing,
"Why Canāt the English?".
Lomas÷"Cries in the Night":
A very nice look at Mystique, the loving and ruthless creature that she is.
She fascinates me.
Dyce÷"A Certain Face":
Had I but time, I would respond with a clever literary reference; alas, I cannot.
Very well done, indeed.
Poi Lass÷"Speechless":
Another great Siryn piece, written with *wonderful* voice and strength. Anything
Poi writes is not to be missed.
Syl÷"My Fatherās Son":
You write a terrific Dick Grayson. Iām really enjoying your Titans tale, as
well.
Samy Merchi÷"From Russia With Love":
Samyās writing the definitive New Mutants tales these days. This work reminds
me why I loved those characters, and that I need to spend a day or two over
at Samyās archive. ;)
Emily R. Snyder÷"The Boon" and "Fly on the Wall":
Nice. Iām hesitant to touch the Vertigo stuff because Gaiman did it so well,
but these are effective pieces.
Kaylee-sama--"He Kinda Sorta Maybe Loves Him":
Warm fuzzies, indeed! Mooky and moving, too. Don't make me like Remy, now...
;) Oh, well, as long as he's good to Bobby, I'm satisfied.
Thanks for the stories, all!
